STAMPING 411 – SSC166

Well I can’t believe how many days have slipped by since I last posted.  I have a little sneak peak at a new stamp coming in our new Catalogue (here in Australia) on Wednesday.

I have used this week sketch over at Stamping 411 for my card

For my card I used the flower from a new stamp set Printed Petals, plus I have used my favourite stamp set Priceless yet again with the swirl image.  The flower is similar to the flower in Priceless but is more a solid image.

As there are quite a few layers with adding the strip in the middle along with the ribbon, I have mounted the sentiment label on dimensionals to keep all one level.

I think I need to invest in an oval die, guess will have to add that to my wish list!

Card: Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, Very Vanilla

Ink: Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie

Stamp: Priceless, Printed Petals*, Sincere Salutations

Other: Pumpkin Pie 5/8″ stripped grosgrain ribbon, Dimensions, 1/4″ circle non SU, Labels Four did non SU

(* new stamp from Stampin’ Up! 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalogue)

MOJO MONDAY – 153

I had started this card with 2 challenges in mind – sketch from Mojo Monday & colour challenge from Just Add Ink, however I got sick & didn’t get it loaded in time to participate in Just Add Ink’s challenge.  So its solely now for Mojo Monday Sketch 153 with the colours Real Red, Chocolae Chip & Kraft (from JAI 31)

I actually made two cards & they are a sneak peak at two of the new hostess sets available in the about to be released Australian Stampin’ Up! 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalogue.

Now I only just switched the colours ever so slightly but I think my favourite is the first one:

and the second one:

One of these cards is going off to a friend for her birthday however it will now be late since I’ve been a little house bound being sick.

Card: Real Red, Chocolate Chip, Kraft, Whisper White

Ink: Read Red, Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Chip Stampin’ Write

Stamp: Cute by the Inch (new), Occasional Quotes (new) {Hostess sets}

Other: Real Red 1/2″ Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, Modern Label Extra Large punch (new). Word Window punch, 1 1/4″ Square & 1 3/8″ Square punches, Dimensionals

Until later, happy stampin’

Ryan’s card for Oliver

Last week my little nephew Ryan wanted to make a card for his little brother Oliver’s 1st Birthday.  So of course while Aunty Kerri was baby sitting I just had help him.  All I did was stamp the sentiment & put all the layers together, Ryan did the rest & here he is making his card:

and the end result (not bad for a 4yr old!)

Can never have enough stars!!  Isn’t Ryan just the cutest & yes that’s vegemite on his face and paint on his hands….. oh the life of being a kid!

Card: Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise, Real Red

Ink: Tempting Turquoise, Real Red

Stamp: Birthday Wish, Classic Backgrounds (retired)

Other: Large Star, Star, Dimensionals

Ryan did make another card, but that one has to stay a secret for a little longer, so will reveal that one down the track.

Now just a reminder that sadly the SMALL STAR PUNCH IS RETIRING, so please let me know if you want this punch before it’s gone from the Stampin’ Up! range of punches!  I know I won’t part with mine.

Until later, happy stampin’

Oliver’s Birthday

Thought I’d share the card I made for my little nephew Oliver’s 1st Birthday on Saturday.

Now I wasn’t quite so clever as to think up the design of the little birdie, but I did change it a little from the original one I found.  Unfortuntately I didn’t keep the site with the card I found (it didn’t have a watermark either to help me).  It’s all made with Stampin’ Up! punches.

Card: Pacific Point, Whisper White, Bashful Blue, Summer Sun, Windsor Knot designer series paper

Ink: Pacific Point, Summer Sun

Stamp: On Your Birthday

Other: Extra Large Oval punch, 1 1/4″ Circle, 1/2″ Circle, 1/4″ Circle (Non SU) punches, Boho Blossoms punch, Trio Flower punch, Extra Large Two-Step Bird punch, 5 Petal Flower punch, Dimensionals, Cricut to cut No 1

I was only looking after my little nephews last Wednesday & yet by Saturday it was amazing how much further Oliver was walking…… there will be no stopping him now!

I’ll share the card I helped 4yr old Ryan (brother to Oliver) make for his little brother tomorrow, he loves “helping” or making cards with Aunty Kerri, although I must admit he just loves to stick flower after flower after flower on his cards.  But I convinced him to use stars for his brother…. lol

Also just sending out birthday wishes to my brother Corey for his birthday today!

Within my family I have 7 birthdays within 5 weeks during August/September….. so its certainly a happy time of the year.

Until later, happy stampin’

INSPIRED BY NATURE

A quick hello from me tonight as don’t seem to be achieving what I had planned to do tonight, I guess feeling tired doesn’t help!

I made some cards a little while ago to send to some ‘cyber’ friends on yahoo group Stampin’ Up in Oz – as within our group we give RAK cards (Random Act of Kindness), I actually used a variety of butterfly stamps from Stampin’ Up! on the different cards.  So I decided to copy and make this birthday card, this is one of my favourite little butterflies.

Now I have used Cameo Coral as my base card which is unfortunately retiring as of the 31st August, hence if you like this colour and want to order before its gone forever, please let me know asap.  Also this butterfly is from Cottage Garden which is in the current Autumn-Winter mini also ending at the 31st August.

I have punched out the ‘pods’ on the reeds using the Horizontal Slot punch – also retiring!!!………. OMGoodness this is sad how many things I like are retiring………. but I guess the positive thing is there will be some lovely NEW PRODUCTS to become my favourites as of the 1st September!!

But please let me know if any items that I have mentioned that are retiring you would like to order before they are no longer available…… I don’t want you kicking yourself they are gone as of the 31st August!

Card: Cameo Coral, Old Olive, Whisper White

Ink: Cameo Coral, Old Olive

Stamp: Inspired by Nature, Cottage Garden, oops I’ve used a retired set for my salutation – Its Your Birthday  (sorry!)

Other: Horizontal Slot punch

Until later, happy stampin’

Until later, happy stampin’

CHERRY ON TOP AWARD

Wow I received this wonderful award from Sonia the other day but just haven’t had a chance to share with you.

Although there is a catch to receiving this award & that is I have to tell you three things about myself, so that has had me sitting here thinking, thinking, thinking!

Well here goes:

1. I love to escape into my craft room to “relax” after a long day at work

2. My other big passion is photography, I think my composition is my strong point, although sometimes I get lost in the “technical” side of things

3. My great desire is travelling – although my budget is restricting this pleasure at the moment!

Phew! got that all out… lol

Now apparently the other thing I have to share with you is a favourite photo……umm now that is harder than you might think, as well I have hundreds & hundreds & hundreds of photos (really should say in the thousands…lol) , so saying one is my favourite is really hard for me, but I’ve decided on an animal photo, not exactly my favourite animal but the definition I achieved in his skin I was really happy with.  This is a rhino at the Dubbo Zoo.

but just thought I’d sneak in another one which was a sunrise down on the Gold Coast at Broadbeach

Now I just have to pass on this award to five other fabulous people so in no particular order I’m sending on this award to:

1. Carolyn McPherson

2. Bronwen Cornish

3. Jodene Tripp

4. Linda Craven

5. Karen Thomas

Now that was a bit hard as my choice of friends to list here was long, but go check out these girls as they are all very talented crafters.

Until later, happy stampin’

Get well card

Just sharing my limited punch art ability for a card I made a little while ago for a friend’s son when he was sick.

Card: Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip, More Mustard, Close to Cocoa, Kraft, Very Vanilla

Ink: Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa Stampin’ Write

Stamp: Sincere Salutations

Other: 5/8″ Chocolate Chip ribbon, Word Window punch, 1″ Circle punch, 1/2″ Circle punch, 1/4″ Circle punch (non SU), Goggly eyes

If you think I’m being good posting yet again, I have actually had this one scheduled to publish as hopefully today I’m out whale watching in the beautiful Moreton Bay – here off the coast from Brisbane.  Although I am a bit worried as its quite windy so hopefully that settles….. don’t want to get sea sick when I want to be taking all those photos!

Until later, happy stampin’
