Another BOY joins our family

My cousin Ian & his wife Fleur welcomed another little boy into their family, little Archer Joseph Scott arrived on the 14th.  So have yet another little boy into the family tree, for which we seem to be having a run of….. lol

I decided to play with Stamping 411 – SSC178 sketch and use boy colours yet again…

For this card I used my Jumbo roller Baby Tees to stamp a little romper suit and then cut it out.  I haven’t perfected the art of folding my ribbon just yet, but I’ll keep working on it as I like the effect it can create.

Card: Soft Suede, Bashful Blue, Whisper White

Ink: Soft Suede, Bashful Blue

Stamp: Baby Tees Jumbo roller, A Word For You, Crosshatch background stamp (retired)

Other: Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder,  Whisper White 5/8″ Organza Ribbon

I think it turned out quite cute & I know they will get a shock that I’m actually sending something as we don’t get a chance to see each other very often.

Until later, happy stampin’

Birthday wishes

Well I can’t seem to keep track of where all my days are vanishing to as I have been meaning to come post now for a couple of days.

Just wanted to share a little gift I made for Dave’s step father for his birthday last Sunday. Happy Birthday Mick.

I will admit I struggle a little with male oriented projects but one would wonder why when there are only males in my family! Yep no sisters only 2 brothers (but  lovely sister-in-laws), only one son & three nephews (& might I say all very cute too).

Here is my card & little chocolate box I made & Dave added a little something to the card later.

I did a little sponging to give colour to my image – using retired stamp Uncharted Territory.

Here’s a close up of the card… umm hope that sail boat doesn’t crash into the rocks!  (I’ve since done another card the same but put my boat right over in the corner!)

& the little box which held 2 slabs of Whittaker’s chocolate.

Card: Early Espresso, Baja Breeze, Whisper White

Ink: Early Espresso, Baja Breeze

Stamp: Occasional Quotes-Level 3 Hostess Set, One of a Kind (retired), Uncharted Territory (retired)

Other: Word Window punch, Modern Label punch

Until later, happy stampin’

With Christmas only 44 days away I thought I should start working on some Christmas cards, so decided to make a card using this week’s sketch over on Stamping 411.

I wanted to use some non traditional colours so came up with Poppy Parade, Not Quite Navy & Crumb Cake.

I used a little Dazzling Diamonds on 2 of the stamped images to give a little bling, although it’s not that obvious in the photo….sorry!

Card: Crumb Cake, Not Quite Navy, Poppy Parade, Very Vanilla

Ink: Not Quite Navy, Poppy Parade

Stamp: Tree Trimmings, Gifted

Other: 1/2″ Poppy Parade Stitched-Poly Ribbon, Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, Word Window punch, Dazzling Diamonds

Don’t forget if you’re interested I have some Christmas Card classes coming up, so please let me know if you’d like to come join me!

Until later, happy stampin’

I had another baby card to make this time for my cousin Candice (& her husband Alan) who had a little boy – Coby, the day after my little nephew Preston was born.  So we welcome another little boy into the family.  Candice was my flower girl in what seems a lifetime ago…

I found this week’s sketch over on Card Patterns suited the stamp I wanted to use in making my little baby boy card.

Now I’m feeling something is missing from my card, so I’m not quite sure if I’m really happy with it.

Card: Bashful Blue, Not Quite Navy, Whisper White

Ink: Not Quite Navy

Stamp: Animal stories, A Word For You, Speckled Jumbo roller (retired)

I may play with it a little more yet….. time will tell.

Until later, happy stampin’

Today is my best friend’s daughter’s 21st birthday.

I thought I’d share the card I made for her using Mojo Monday sketch 163.

I decided it needed a little bling!  So I used my Heat & Stick and Dazzling Diamonds to the stamped image to give some bling – hence you can see the shimmer in the photo with the glitter effect.

Here is my card:

Card: Whisper White, Basic Black, Riding Hood Red

Ink: Basic Black, Riding Hood Red Stampin’ Write markers

Stamp: Just Believe, Speckled Jumbo roller (retired)

Other: Heat & Stick powder, Dazzling Diamonds, non SU scalloped die, 21 cut using Cricut

Until later, happy stampin’

We welcomed a new member into our family last Wednesday (27th Oct),  a gorgeous little boy  – Preston William DENNING.  Congratulations to my brother Corey & his wife Melissa.

I flew from Brisbane to Melbourne on Saturday to meet my little nephew & spent 4 days getting lots of cuddles and photos of him.  It was quite sad to think he’ll be so much bigger next time I see him, but I guess its more of an excuse to visit now.  His parents didn’t let on they knew the sex of the baby, but they tricked us, as his nursery it decorated in white, blue (navy) & red & certainly has the WOW factor! –  just beautiful!!!!!

I’m still having laptop issues, so will try to share some photos soon…. as for now I’m relying on Dave preparing any photos for me.

I thought I’d just share part of my gift for Preston – I made this Baby Carry All (designed by my cousin’s wife Sue Denning), using some pattern paper from my scrapping collection (non SU)

& the “filled” angle

I managed to fit 3 outfits, 2 singlets, 4 bibs, 2 washers, socks, 1 baby wrap, 2 burper blankets, baby spoons… umm think that was all.  I also had a second part to the box as the baby towel, change table mat, book & soft cuddly rabbit just wouldn’t fit in there…. lol

Card: Textured Whisper White, Bashful Blue, pattern paper from my collection

Other: Scallop Edge Border punch

Now I made a few baby cards but this is the one I ended up giving

Card: Bashful Blue, Whisper White, Brocade Blue (retired)

Ink: Basic Gray, Bashful Blue stampin’ write, Brocade Blue stampin’ write (retired)

Stamp: Sweetness Unlimited, Bundle of Joy (retired)

Other: Bashful Blue stripped grosgrain ribbon (retired)

I’m sorry but I just can’t help using some of my retired products as I love them.

Until later, happy stampin’
