Thank you gift for Julie

I wanted to make a little thank you gift for my lovely friend & photographer Julie-Ann Smith for the great photos she took of my son & myself last weekend.  Check out her blog to see her beautiful work Jasphotograph (this is the link to see some of my photos) but also look at her other work!  I’m eager to see the rest of the photo shoot.

We went out together today to take some photos, so check out my photography blog later to see some of those images (but perhaps tomorrow as not sure I’ll get to look at them tonight…..lol)

I made a little box and put 4 cards inside.  I kept to the same colour scheme for everything after I liked the combination on a technique card I posted previously: Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Certainly Celery & Whisper White.

The box:

Here they are individual:

Until later,

Ellie Elephant

Making another card to add to my children’s collection, this time with the little elephant from Pun Fun.  I’ve used this week special over on Inkspirations – sketch 75

This is the sketch:

Ink: Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise, Black Stazon

Until later, happy stampin’

Pun Fun Birdie

Sorry I haven’t blogged all week, the end of last week ended up quite busy at work trying to get everything done as I left work early on Friday to go visit my parents while they were up in Hervey Bay.  It was such a lovely weekend, I managed to get out fishing twice with my parents – catching winter whiting (diver whiting).

I’m wanting to make a collection of children’s cards, so this week I’ve used Card Patterns sketch 120.

For this card I’ve used the little birdie from Pun Fun.

Here is the sketch:

Card: Baja Breeze, Whisper White, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Greenhouse Gala DSP

Ink: Baja Breeze, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Black Stazon

Stamp: Pun Fun, Party This Way, Birthday Bakery (Level 1 Hostess set), Birthday Best (retired)

Other: Pinking Hearts Border Punch, Aqua Painters

Until later, happy stampin’

Eastern Blooms

Here’s another card using the Faux Silk technique, for this card I’ve used this week sketch over on The Sweet Stop – SSS112.

Here is the sketch:

Card: Cajun Craze, More Mustard, Basic Grey, Whisper White

Ink: Basic Grey, Cajun Craze

Stamp: Eastern Blooms, Short & Sweet

Just  a reminder if you’re in Brisbane then I’m doing this technique in my class on the 25th, so please let me know if you’d like to join in.

Blast off

Sorry I haven’t posted for a few days, but I’m trying to shake this darn cold I’ve had for 2 weeks.  I lost my voice for nearly 5 days so that was a source of laughter for my son with the little squeak I had occasionally.  It’s a little hard to get the creative juices rolling when I was either coughing or snuffly nose 😦

My goal to get me back creating was to make some children’s cards, so thought I’d start off with using this week’s sketch from Stamping 411 – SSC207

A little boy’s card:

Thought I’d show you inside the card for a change:

This week’s sketch:

Card: Pacific Point, Real Red, Whisper White

Ink: Pacific Point, Read Red, Versamark

Stamp: Pun Fun, Party This Way, In The Stars (retired), [Inside – Birthday Wish]

Other: Large Star punch, 1 3/4″ Circle punch, Clear Embossing powder, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Aqua Painters

Until later, happy stampin’

Thinking of You

Well I’m back to share another card I made using Clean & Simple sketch 143 & Pals Paper Arts 96.  I made this card to send out to a random friend on one of my stamping groups.  At last I’ve achieved a card from scratch having been home sick all day….. although I guess I didn’t really achieve the aim of the colour combination as just remembered it was masculine…..oops!

The sketch from Clean & Simple:

and the colour combination from Pals Paper Arts:

Stamp: Share a Cup, Teeny Tiny Sentiments

Other: Scallop Edge Border punch, Modern Label punch, Word Window punch

Until later, happy stampin’

Fast & Fabulous Medallion

I thought why not spoil you with two posts today & show you another card I started earlier in the week but just had to put together, since I’m not feeling that creative with my cold to come up with another card just yet.

Again I’ve combined a Sketch & colour combination for this card.  Using Just Add Ink #70 Round sketch & Stamping 411 Colour Inspiration #158.

Here’s the sketch from JAI:

and here’s the colour combination from Stamping 411

I did a little Rock n Roll technique on the Medallion stamp & added some Dazzling Diamonds to the flowers.

Stamp: Medallion, Fast & Fabulous, Create a Cupcake

Other: Perfect Polka Dots Embossing folder, Two Step Owl punch, Modern Label punch, Word Window punch, Dazzling Diamonds, Scallop Circle & Circle Nestabilites dies (non SU)

Although I’d like to actually go make a ’round card’ that would suit JAI current sketch.

 Until later, happy stampin’.

Upsy Daisy

I’m currently suffering from a cold which I’ve had for the past few days  & yesterday went downhill even more & now don’t really have a voice…. well enough that everyone laughs at me when a little squeak might come out  😦

At home sick today, as I can hardly answer the phone at work or talk to patients like this, so thought I’d share a card I started the other day using sketch from Stamping 411 #206 & colour combination from Color Throwdown #144.  I used a Misting technique to get it looking like a water colour image.

Here is the sketch from Stamping 411:

and the colour combination from Color Throwdown:

Card: Melon Mambo, Certainly Celery, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White

Stamp: Upsy Daisy, Teeny Tiny Sentiments, Wonderfully Worn (background stamp)

Other: Square Lattice Texture Embossing folder, Sweet Buttons Embosslits, Scallop Edge Border punch.

Why not come to my Technique Class on the 25th to do this Misting technique (details under my Classes tab)

Until later, happy stampin’
