Another Secret Sister card

Hi everyone,

Sorry I have been MIA again!  I was sick at the start of the week with the dreaded gastro bug for 2 days (although not a nice way to loose weight I’m happy I did) & amongst all that my parents came to visit me to help with trying to finish off all my backyard renovations I’ve been doing for the past couple of months.

The last few weeks we have been making great progress, my wonderful son has been working tirelessly with a little help from his friends.  I try to do as much as I can but these past couple of days I’m pretty proud of the final touches I’ve been able to get done.  I’ve planted up 2 gardens each over 10m long, helped move 2 3/4tonne of stones, built another garden and the list goes on and on…. lol.  All that was possible with the help of my wonderful Dad & Mum over the past couple of days.

Earlier in the week I received another card from my Secret Sister so it really cheered me up…. its so nice getting happy mail!

This card used the Just Believe stamp set & the Faux Silk technique….. just like the technique I’ll be teaching in my class on Saturday, so if you’d like to learn this technique & you can make it to my place on the southside of Brisbane, please let me know.

Until later happy stampin’

Secret Sister Gift (Feb)

Just had to share my latest gift from my Secret Sister – my February gift!

You will recall I had started to show my cards for February & my Secret Sister let me know through the co-ordinator that she was a little behind in getting my gift out, but wow it was certainly worth the wait as its gorgeous!!!!!!!!  Its using Sweet & Sour Specialty DSP & Priceless stamp set (my old time favourite stamp set).  Okay I suppose if I’m raving about it being so pretty then I should show you….. lol

There was a chocolate pull out box – with my absolute favourite chocolate inside – White Lindt….. yummo!!!

Then there was the most cutest little handbag made from Top Note die & Scallop Circle & inside was a container of Flower Designer Brads – aren’t I so lucky!!

Then to make it all complete another very pretty co-ordinating card

So do you agree with me it was worth the wait as its all just so so pretty!!!!!  Thank you Secret Sister – I’m intrigued to know who you are as I just love the time you put into your work!

Until later,happy stampin’

Rhianna’s 1st birthday

It was little Rhianna’s 1st Birthday on Thursday (David’s niece) & we’re off to her 1st Birthday party today…. although the weather isn’t being kind as its raining off & on here in Brisbane today.

I have used this week’s sketch over at The Sweet Stop SSS97 to make my card for her.  Of course all little girls have lots of pink  so why not her birthday card too!

I have used a retired stamp Pretty Princess here but to tell the truth I had bought this ages ago & then never used it….. ooops!…. but now I’ve made a card I might have to do a few more ‘girly’ cards with it….lol

This was the sketch:

As I was trying to stay with just pink on the card my lace trim looked a little stark just in Very Vanilla so I used my Colour Spritzer Tool just to add a hint of Regal Rose to soften it a little.  I used a circle nestability & left the die positioned on the cut out then used a Sponge Dauber to add some colour just inside the rim, so when its removed your left with a border of the orginal cardstock & yet have colour to frame the image.  I could have used my Circle Cutter to cut my circle although a little hard to then colour like I did.

Card: Very Vanilla, Regal Rose, Rose Red

Ink: Black Stazon, Regal Rose, Pink Pirouette

Stamp: Pretty Princess (retired), Scallop Trim Border punch, Boho Blossoms punch, Basic Pearls Jewels, Colour Spritzer ToolSponge Dauber, Swiss Dots embossing folder (non SU), Circle Nestabilities (non SU)

I’d better go wrap the birthday girl’s pressie now as off to her party soon!

Surprisingly I have a few projects done & ready to share, so stay tuned!

Until later, happy stampin’

GTKY Card to share

I have been a little busy working in the yard still to have a lot of time for my craft room.  Today I cleaned out my garage of all the tools & mess my son has been using with our backyard renovations & finally I can get my car back in there, so I’m really pleased……  but not the fact I spent my day off doing it.

Just to make my day after all that hard work I received a GTKY card (get to know you) from fellow stamper Tracy.  Each month in my yahoo group Stampin Up in Oz we send a card & letter about ourself to our nominated partner.

Here is the card I received.

I’m planning a ‘D’ party for later in the month to christen my new patio area and show off all these long awaited yard renovations….. plus to celebrate I’m officially “free” as all the documents have been through the courts. So I’ll be back to share them with you.

Until later, happy stampin’
