Swap Sister’s Challenge Wk 5

I have enjoyed doing a couple of items for the weekly challenge on Swap Sisters & this week was a colour challenge using:

(Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose, Pink Pirouette & Whisper White)

Here is one card which I plan to use for a friends birthday this week.

I have used Embrace Life & On Your Birthday (verse), along with some Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon.  I mounted my birthday greeting with dimensionals.

I have used the colour challenge combination on my workshop class…. details to follow.

Until later, happy stampin’

Sympathy Card

As I have mentioned on a previous post I sadly lost my grandfather last week.  This was a card that I made for my Mum

After using the Upsy Daisy & Butterfly Prints stamps on an earlier card I thought these also suited this type of card

I have used Basic Gray, Riding Hood Red & Whisper White card, inked with Basic Gray & Riding Hood Red, then finished it off with some Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon.  Again I decided to make some faux brads punching out Basic Gray 1/4″ circles & applying Crystal Effects.

Then on the inside I have stamped the images again on Whisper White.  The sentiments are from Thoughts & Prayers stamp set.

Check back tomorrow when I give a sneak peak at my next class…… themed for Easter!

Until then, happy stampin’

Bearthday Cards

I have been lucky to get a loan of the Build-a-Bear dies to create two birthday cards for my friend’s twin boys birthday cards.  How quickly they are growing up as they turn 4.

Just to make them a little different I have made one with Chocolate Chip and the other Close to Cocoa.

I have used Washington Apple DSP, Riding Hood Red, Bashful Blue & So Saffron cardstock & inked the greeting in Riding Hood Red as well as softened the edges.

Until next time, happy stampin’

Upsy Daisy Hello

To get me started with my creativity I’ve created a card for one of my stampin’ groups I belong to.  We occasionally have a GTKY (get to know you) swap where we make a card and tell our swap sister a little about ourselves in a letter.  This is my card using the stamp set Upsy Daisy.

I have used Pink Pirouette, Basic  Gray and Whisper White cardstock;  Basic Gray Taffeta Ribbon; Butterfly Prints stamp set from the Summer Mini (Dec 09 –  March 10), Upsy Daisy & Outlined For Fun stamp sets; Pink Pirouette and Basic Gray ink; Butterfly Punch from Summer Mini.  I hand cut my stamped pink butterfly so it would be a little smaller to achieve a shadow effect on top of the punched butterfly in grey.  I the attached the pink butterfly to the grey butterfly only glueing at the body and allowing the wings to be free and give dimension of being able to fly off the card.  I punched out 3 small circles and attached to the ribbon before adding Crystal Effects to make my own faux matching brads.

I really like the combination of pink pirouette and basic gray, I hope you think the same although it does look better IRL.

Until later, happy stampin’

I’m back

You can all stop looking for me as I’m back at last!

I had a wonderful holiday with 3 great friends cruising from Freemantle (Western Australia) up the west coast of Australia visiting Geraldton & Broome  and then cruising up to Indonesia visiting Lombok, Bali and Komodo.  Lots of sightseeing at all ports but little shopping time which was sad but my bank balance liked it I guess!  We all ate way too much food, but how can you resist such wonderful choices on the menu each day.

I’ve returned to work and been snowed under with paperwork since I got back, so have had many very long days at my work desk and then really tired when I get home and hence finding it hard to get creative.

I had some sad news the day after I returned with my lovely grandfather passing away.  So its been a very emotional and exhausting week, but hopefully I can rise above and start posting some creations again……. so stay tuned.

Until later, happy stampin’
