Ruffled Bazaar Twilight Markets

Ruffled Bazaar Twilight Markets are on again today at the Mt Gravatt Showgrounds in Brisbane from 3-8pm.

As it’s Mother’s Day on Sunday the theme for these markets is of course Mother’s Day!!!  I have a stall again, so come along & say hello.  There will be lots of exciting stalls with some just to pamper that special Mum out there.

Here are some long notebooks I’ve made

Until later, happy stampin’

Here are a few notebooks I have made for

I have made some cute handbags for my Mother’s Day stall next Saturday 12th May at the Ruffled Bazaar Twilight Markets – Mt Gravatt Showgrounds (Brisbane).

They will fit a that special little gift for your Mum or special friend.

So come visit me at my stall between 3-8pm.  Orders taken.

I’ll be back to share some other cute handbag gift bags later.

Until later, happy stampin’

Happy Father’s Day

Justing hoping all the Father’s out there had a very HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!!!

Best wishes especially to my Dad – Nev.  Also to Dave’s Dad – Nev (yep two of them in the family!) & his step dad Mick.

Thought I’d share my Father’s Day gifts

I filled the BBQ with chocolates & also managed to fit in  large Set For Life Casket tickets.

I actually got this tutorial over at Stamping Addict – I found her template a bit little for what I wanted, so sat down & made my own template – I’m happy with the larger size.  I then upscaled the card to a A5 size.

Here is my BBQ (the big one) & the original BBQ size (4″ in height), I probably made mine a bit too tall for the proportions, so I’m going to make another one just a fraction smaller.

Here are some other views:

Sail Away

Thought I’d try do a male card with the latest sketch over on Stamping 411Although I have used a retired mini stamp as I don’t have many current male stamps.

This is a Father’s Day card – ready to help acknowledge the great Dad’s out there this Sunday.

I sponged on some Marina Mist for my water (although the colour in this photo doesn’t quite look it).

This week’s sketch 218

Card: Early Espresso, Marina Mist, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla

Ink: Early Espresso, Marina Mist, Crumb Cake

Stamp: Teeny Tiny Sentiments, Sail Away (retired)

Other: Top Note Bigz die, Square Lattice Embossing folder, Modern Label punch, Word Window punch, Early Espresso 5/8″ Grosgrain ribbon

I’m sorry I sometimes use retired stamps, but I love my stamp collection, so I’m always bound to use a retired one along the way…. after all that’s why I bought them in the first place…. to use!

Happy Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day to all those Mum’s out there!….. especially my Mum – love you Mum!

Mum came down to visit me 2 weekends in a row, first for Easter long weekend then again last weekend so she could take me to & from the hospital for my surgery.  I really wanted to make her something special for Mother’s Day, but I was really fighting with finding my mojo while she was here & also trying to create something that she wouldn’t see.   So I managed to make a basket to put some little goodies in & a card but must admit I wasn’t really happy with my colours, although I was happy with the final outcome.

My basket (template) was from Lauren Meader & I saw this cute bookmark card on someone’s blog (I’ll come back & let you know with an update when I find it again)

Here is her gift (empty)

(Now the basket is quite big as the card is a normal C5 size.)

The card has a bookmark hidden in the front

I filled the basket with a few things for her to use for cardmaking & nougat & chocolates & little bee ornament for her cactii garden.  Last weekend we went for a drive to Monteville and Maleny which is in the hinterland of the Sunshine Coast here in Queensland & bought her a few little plants she liked as an early gift as well.

I then decided to make another card the same for David’s mum as she likes to read, I must admit I had bit more of my mojo happening on this card with the colours.

We found a cute little plant for her – quite quirky I think! – and she had hinted previously to David that she’d love a few more little citronella candles, so this was her gift

I woke my Mum this morning when I called her to wish her a Happy Mother’s Day…..oops (but she doesn’t usually sleep in til 8am).  However I’m still waiting for ‘that’ call from my son, but perhaps I’ll just get it in person when I get home this afternoon…  As I’m currently up at Toorbul having just shot some sunrise photos.  I was really happy as my “other” son Luke (Ben’s best mate) has text me wishing me a Happy Mother’s Day!  Now let’s see if I get my wish for my pressie, as I gave my son enough hints…. even leaving the catalogue open from the junk mail….lol

Father’s Day

Just sharing one of my Father’s Day gift, this is one I made for Dave’s father.  (I made another with different base colour for his step father).   I thought Autumn Days would be a good masculine set to use.

The card:

The pull out gift – which contained a scratchie & huge family size Kit Kat!

The whole co-ordinating gift – I added a Fancy Favour box with a mix of jaffas & kool mints inside.

Card: So Saffron, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White

Ink: So Saffron, Chocolate Chip, More Mustard

Stamp: Autumn Days, Occasional Greetings, Loads of Love

Other: Grosgrain ribbon (non SU), Horizontal Slot punch (now retired)

My Dad is away on holidays at the moment, so he will have to wait for his pressie.

Sending out big Happy Father’s Day wishes to all the Dad’s out there (not that they would be here on my blog reading it – oh well this wish goes out in spirit!)

Until later, happy stampin’

Well I hope all the mothers out there had a very nice day today for Mother’s Day, I know I did.  I had a lovely lunch by the water up at Sutton’s Beach – Redcliffe with family.

I’m just sharing my gifts I gave for Mother’s Day.  Both are similar but a little different…..

I made the flowers using the Scallop Circle

To Make: Punch out 9-10 scallop circles in DSP, scrunching each one up tight then flattening out, put each on top of one another & insert brad to keep together, then scrunch up each circle from top one down to form the flower.

As this was the first time I’d tried to make these flowers I used retired DSP  Ginger Blossom

The first of my gifts was for my Mum (along with other gifts of course!)

There is actually 2 chocolate boxes here & card:

The Dove chocolate box which I have previously posted (Mother’s Day class) & the other box had a box of Roses chocolates inside.

Card/paper: Cameo Coral, Very Vanilla, retired DSP Ginger Blossom

Stamp: Vintage Vogue, Occasional Greetings, Beyond the Basics (retired)

Ink: Cameo Coral, River Rock (retired but returning!)

Other: Top Note die, Scallop Circle punch, Pretties Kit, Dimensionals, non SU die (Labels One)

Then the other gift was for David’s mum

Again there was the Dove Chocolate box, card & soap in a box made using the Scallop Envelope die.

Card/paper: Cameo Coral, Very Vanilla, River Rock (retired but returning), retired DSP Ginger Blossom

Stamp: Occasional Greetings, Teeny Tiny Sentiments

Ink: Cameo Coral

Other: Top Note die, Scallop Circle punch, Little Leaves die, Scallop Oval punch, Large oval punch, Very Vanilla ribbon, Dimensionals, non SU die (Labels One)

It was nice to know these gifts were appreciated.
