More male cards

Just thought I’d share a few more of the masculine cards (as promised) that I made the other day.

A few different variations on the same card I made for Rod’s 60th birthday card.

Ummm my photos seem to have made the matting on the cards look a little crooked but I can assure you all evenly cut….. lol

Card: Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, Basic Black,

Ink: Soft Suede, Basic Black,

Stamp: Extreme Elements, Petite Pairs/On Your Birthday

Other: Dimensionals, Star punch

Until later, happy stampin’

Happy 60th Rod

This is a little late in posting as I’ve had  a silly head cold for the past week & I thought I was clever trying to go to work only to have to go home at lunchtime each day…. but feel I’m on the mend now.

It was my lovely friend Gail’s husband’s 60th on Tuesday – Happy Birthday Rod!!

As it was a special “milestone” I thought I should make a card – so this was the card I made for him.

Card: Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, Basic Black,

Ink: Soft Suede, Basic Black,

Stamp: Extreme Elements, Little Princess (salutation)

Other: Dimensionals, Cricut (cutting 60)

Male cards are a little of a challenge for me, so I got some inspiration from looking at fellow stampers sites but I’m afraid I can’t remember who gave me this inspiration.

I’ll be back to share a few more masculine cards I made just making small variations to this one.

Until later, happy stampin’

I’m back!!!

Belated HAPPY NEW YEAR & hello to all my wonderful friends & followers I humbly apologise for being absent for so long!! Life for me has just been a bit hectic and I’ve just needed to chill out over the festive season.  It’s taken a bit to get my mojo back, so I’m hoping to get back into the swing of creating again!!  I have been making a few cards since my last post, but just not got around to showing them off…..

Well to kick of this year I’m starting with one of my favourite challenge sites – Stamping 411.

This week’s sketch SSC238

As it’s a male card I changed the bow into a multi layered sentiment to kinda resemble a bow…..lol.

Now for those who know me I struggle a bit with male cards so I’m pretty impressed I’ve kicked off this blogging year really challenging myself…. lol

This was my first attempt but I wasn’t sure about the colour if it was all too much the same

Card: Night of Navy, River Rock, Riding Hood Red, Whisper White

Ink: Night of Navy, Riding Hood Red

Stamp: Ocean Commotion, Teeny Tiny Sentiment  (2nd card – Petite Pairs)

Other: Strips Embossing folder, Punches: 1″ Circle, Modern label, Word window & Designer Label (retired….oops!)

Now there were a few moments I had to remember what to do in the blogging process….. lol

Until later, happy stampin’

Happy Birthday Nev

It’s David’s father’s birthday today – Happy Birthday Nev!

We’ve just got back from a BBQ dinner with the family, so I thought I’d share my card.  I know another male card in such a short time, unusual for me hey!!

Now I have yet to order new ‘male’ stamp sets from the new catalogue, so I dragged out retired set Sense of Time.

Here’s another angle

Card: Baja Breeze, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake

Ink: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake

Stamp: Sense of Time (retired), Teeny Tiny Sentiments

Other: Curly Label punch, Jewlry Tag punch, Dimensionals, cricut to cut letters

Until later, happy stampin’

Happy Birthday David

I will admit I struggle a little with masculine cards & especially what to do for David for his birthday card.

Then I thought of Dragonflies & how he loves to take photos of them if we see them, so I decided to use Nature’s Nest stamp set.

Card: Pacific Blue, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Pear Pizzazz

Ink: Pacific Blue

Stamp: Nature’s Nest, On Your Birthday

Other: Bird Builder punch, Scallop Edge Border punch

Happy Birthday honey!

Until later, happy stampin’

Sail Away

Thought I’d try do a male card with the latest sketch over on Stamping 411Although I have used a retired mini stamp as I don’t have many current male stamps.

This is a Father’s Day card – ready to help acknowledge the great Dad’s out there this Sunday.

I sponged on some Marina Mist for my water (although the colour in this photo doesn’t quite look it).

This week’s sketch 218

Card: Early Espresso, Marina Mist, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla

Ink: Early Espresso, Marina Mist, Crumb Cake

Stamp: Teeny Tiny Sentiments, Sail Away (retired)

Other: Top Note Bigz die, Square Lattice Embossing folder, Modern Label punch, Word Window punch, Early Espresso 5/8″ Grosgrain ribbon

I’m sorry I sometimes use retired stamps, but I love my stamp collection, so I’m always bound to use a retired one along the way…. after all that’s why I bought them in the first place…. to use!

Until later, happy stampin’
