SCRAPBOOKING – Ella’s Pink Lady & Elephants

I have been a scrapbooker for many many years, so thought I should start to show some of my pages occasionally.

I held a class last week with a sketch for the ladies to copy and these are two of my double page layouts to give them samples to see.

I apologise about the quality of the photos, but its hard taking them at night & trying to avoid the reflection of the overhead light but at the same time needing the light!

The first layout is of Jessica Watson’s boat – Ella’s Pink Lady.  I was in Sydney the weekend after Jess arrived back from her round the world voyage  (Stampin’ Up! Convention weekend) and lucky enough to see her boat moored at Darling Harbour.  How this young girl managed to sail unassisted around the world at only 16years of age in such a little boat is pretty amazing!  Even the little map I found on the internet to show her voyage  was tracked in pink!

Card/paper: Whisper White, Pretty in Pink, Tea Party designer series paper

Other: Heart to Heart punch, title cut with cricut

The second layout is of the Elephants at Taronga Zoo.  It was the same sketch but I wanted to fit more photos in so I changed some of the large photos for 1/2 size ones to show more of the elephants antics.  We had fun watching the elephants in their enclosure especially the 2 baby elephants – Luk Chai nearly 12mths & little Pathi Harn (originally known as Mr Shuffles) nearly 3mths.  Pathi Harn was the little elephant that made headlines as his mother Porntip couldn’t seem to deliver him and everyone had given up that he had died in utero.  But this elephant had a lot of determination to live, even with his slow start to life he’s starting to mimic all the other elephants now which is a good sign.

The next two images show how I added more images to the layout

Card/paper: Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, Tall Tales designer series paper (previous Summer mini)

Ink: Chocolate Chip

Stamp: Priceless, Animal Stories (previous Summer mini)

Hope you have enjoyed my first postings of my scrapbooking & I look forward to posting some more.

Until later, happy stampin’

  1. I’m so excited to see you scrapbooking again! I love these layouts and can’t wait to see more.

Congratulations of giving us a great sketch, a layout that incorporates all the design rules and a great example of how to incorporate stamping in our scrapooks.
