Just Add Ink #9 sketch

I had just discovered this sketch from Just Add Ink when I found out a long time friend of my parents passed away yesterday.   So I thought it would suit making a Sympathy card to send to Harry’s family.

I still had cardstock colours from my previous post on my desk, so decided to use some of those again, this is my version of the sketch:

I was inspired to try making a sunflower using the scallop punch, after seeing fellow members Karen & Jodene’s creations on yahoo group Stampin Up in Oz, so thanks girls for the idea.

Card/paper: Cameo Coral, Rose Red, Certainly Celery, Raspberry Tart Designer Series Paper

Stamp: Close As A Memory, Boho Backgrounds

Ink: Rose Red

Other: Pretties Kit, Scallop Circle punch, Scallop Edge punchLittle Leaves sizzlet die*

NOTE: * released in Autumn-Winter Mini 1st April

Rest In Peace Harry!

Until later, happy stampin’

Saturday Sketch 20/3 (UDI)

I decided to challenge myself with Utah Diva’s International  Saturday Sketch (20/3) which was to include the Pretties kit with the sketch.

I wanted to use my Raspberry Tart DSP as haven’t used it for a while, so this is my card:

Must admit I had a few attempts at making my butterfly with the beads, my first attempt got laughed at so that wasn’t a good feeling….  it was referred to as an alien…. [sob sob].  Then tried to use the pin from the Pretties Kit, but as I wanted to make it more like a butterfly with antennas I used wire and came with this butterfly.  I joined two butterfly images together to hold the wire body in place.

I used a silk flower from the Pretties Kit & then added some layers by punching extra flowers with the 5-Petal Flower & Boho Blossoms.  I curled the larger flowers a little just with my fingers & then added my sentiment before attaching the last flower & pearl.

Card/paper: Kiwi Kiss, Cameo Coral , Raspberry Tart Designer Series Paper

Stamp: Butterfly Prints, Teeny Tiny Sentiments*

Ink: Rose Red

Punches: Butterfly, 5-Petal Flower, Boho Blossoms

Other: Pretties Kit (silk flower, beads, pearls), Dimensionals, non SU embossing folder [Swiss Dots], wire

NOTE: * Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue available 1st April.

Until later, happy stampin’

It’s my cousin’s wife birthday today….. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SUE….. just sharing the little last minute gift I made her as we visited them on the weekend, guess I surprised her!  (didn’t I Sue!…..lol)

Card/paper: Sweet Always Designer Series Paper, Pumpkin Pie, Regal Rose, Whisper White

Stamp: Always, Cute & Curly, Birthday Best (retired)

Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Regal Rose, Stampin’ Write pen Pumpkin pie

Other: Pretties Kit, Sizzlits Little Leaves (released in new Autum Mini), Curly Label punch, Dimensionals, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Non SU product [Labels One]

I had to trace my Labels One shape (non SU) to then enlarge to fit my box.  The box then fits 9 dove chocolates (another 9 can fit but the lid won’t quite shut)

I stamped the flowers from Always, then cut them out & decorated with a half pearls from the Pretties Kit, I mounted the middle flower over the stem on a Dimensional.  I wanted a little birthday greeting so dug out my retired Birthday Best stamp set & only coloured the Happy Birthday words on the stamp with my Stampin’ Write pen and positioned on the label from Cute & Curly with my Stamp-a-ma-jig.

Hope you have a lovely day Sue & get lots of pressies!

Until later, happy stampin’
