I’m still here!

19 May

My humble apologies I haven’t blogged for a few days now…. been just busy but also coming down with something as currently feeling dreadful.

I’m off to Sydney tomorrow for our annual Stampin’ Up! Convention - so I hope I feel a bit better tomorrow as the flight is going to kill my ears which are blogged.

So shall be back next week & can share some Convention news & photos.

Until later, happy stampin’

Take 2 on Stamping 411 – SSC 150

13 May

As I said I had made a couple of variations of this week’s challenge over on Stamping 411, these are the feminine cards I also made….. why its taken this long to post when I made them a couple of days ago I’m not sure…. oh yes I remember, going to work! yep it does interrupt one’s craft time! lol

This time I used half pearls from the Pretties Kit to my flower centre

Stamping 411 – SSC150

13 May

This is my first card I made for the sketch challenge over on Stamping 411. I was quite happy to actually achieve another masculine card with not much effort.

I used my Crimper to give some texture to the card, to get the ‘seer sucker’ look I ran the cardstock through the crimper then turned it 90 degrees & ran it through again.  For the small strip below the stamped image I only ran it through the crimper once, just thought a little different to adding ribbon.

Card: Soft Suede, Baja Breeze, Very Vanilla

Stamp: Lovely As A Tree, Teeny Tiny Sentiments (Autumn-Winter Mini)

Ink: Soft Suede

Other: Crimper, Word Window punch, non SU 1/4 circle punch

Now just have to find my other femine cards I made using this sketch

Until later, happy stampin’

Secret Sister Card

13 May

As I’ve mentioned before I’m participating in a Secret Sister Swap & sadly this is our last month.  This is my 2nd card I received for April.

Again my SS has given me a pink card (my favourite colour) Pretty In Pink  works so well with Chocolate Chip, the stamp set is Pocket Silhouettes.

I’m looking forward to my 2 cards & big finale gift this month, as on our last month we are to give a bigger valued gift.  I must admit I’m struggling to find time to get mine finished to send out to my secret sister….. but have no fear it’s progressing slowly…. if only I didn’t have to go to work & I had more ”fun” time in my craft room…… lol

I’ve just realised I had made a few variations for Stamping 411 challenge this week & not posted them so off to find them so I can share with everyone, so shall post them soon.

Until later, happy stampin’

Cards received

13 May

Thought I’d share some cards I’ve recently received from ladies in yahoo group Stampin’ Up in Oz and hope you agree they are all very pretty.

Each month we have a GTKY card & letter (Get To Know You) where we send information about ourselves along with a card to a nominated person, this in turn will allow us to know more about each other in the group.

This is my card I received from Kylie Johnson – its using Friends 24/7 stamp set, along with Rich Razzleberry & the new Polka Dot ribbons from the Autumn-Winter Mini.

The following cards are RAK’s (Random Act of Kindness) cards:

From Tammy Hanlon.  This is using Raspberry Tart Designer Series Paper & Flight of the Butterfly stamp set

From Joanne Kechagias.  This is using the new Rich Razzleberry cardstock & Extra Large Two Step Bird punch

And the following is a RRAK (return random act of kindness) from Linda Craven…. although she didn’t really need to repay me as I’d sent her a birthday card…. but I love the colour combination.  This is using Circle Circus stamp set.

Tomorrow I’ll share my Secret Sister Card I received with you….

Until later, happy stampin’

Mojo Monday Sketch 137

10 May

I wanted to use the Asian Artistry set which is the Level 2 Hostess stamp set (free on orders $600 or more) in our current (Australian) Autumn Winter Mini Catalogue.  This is such a lovely set, so if you’d like more information on hosting a party or such to receive it, please contact me.

I found the Mojo Monday sketch 137 and thought this stamp set would suit the sketch – although this weeks sketch time is almost over.

Here is my version of the sketch:

I have stamped off the image on the blue background, just so it didn’t distract from the main image, but yet gave background to the card.  I used the bamboo leaf image from Embrace Life as thought it went well with the main stamp set & then used the For You from Fresh Cuts.

Card: Very vanilla, Brocade Blue (I like this colour but sadly it will be retiring later in the year), Certainly Celery

Stamp: Asian Artistry, Embrace Life, Fresh Cuts

Ink: Brocade Blue, Brocade Blue & Certainly Celery Stampin’ Write pens

Other: Small oval punch

Thanks for stopping by!

Until later, happy stampin’

MOTHER’S DAY

9 May

Well I hope all the mothers out there had a very nice day today for Mother’s Day, I know I did.  I had a lovely lunch by the water up at Sutton’s Beach – Redcliffe with family.

I’m just sharing my gifts I gave for Mother’s Day.  Both are similar but a little different…..

I made the flowers using the Scallop Circle

To Make: Punch out 9-10 scallop circles in DSP, scrunching each one up tight then flattening out, put each on top of one another & insert brad to keep together, then scrunch up each circle from top one down to form the flower.

As this was the first time I’d tried to make these flowers I used retired DSP  Ginger Blossom

The first of my gifts was for my Mum (along with other gifts of course!)

There is actually 2 chocolate boxes here & card:

The Dove chocolate box which I have previously posted (Mother’s Day class) & the other box had a box of Roses chocolates inside.

Card/paper: Cameo Coral, Very Vanilla, retired DSP Ginger Blossom

Stamp: Vintage Vogue, Occasional Greetings, Beyond the Basics (retired)

Ink: Cameo Coral, River Rock (retired but returning!)

Other: Top Note die, Scallop Circle punch, Pretties Kit, Dimensionals, non SU die (Labels One)

————————————————-

Then the other gift was for David’s mum

Again there was the Dove Chocolate box, card & soap in a box made using the Scallop Envelope die.

Card/paper: Cameo Coral, Very Vanilla, River Rock (retired but returning), retired DSP Ginger Blossom

Stamp: Occasional Greetings, Teeny Tiny Sentiments

Ink: Cameo Coral

Other: Top Note die, Scallop Circle punch, Little Leaves die, Scallop Oval punch, Large oval punch, Very Vanilla ribbon, Dimensionals, non SU die (Labels One)

It was nice to know these gifts were appreciated.

Male 21st Card

6 May

Well I have been super slack with getting any posts up for the past week, but the biggest reason is I’ve been having internet connection problems at home! aarhhh!!!   It seems to just keep dropping me out mid way through downloading, so had given up in frustration.

Anyway this is the card I have been wanting to share all week.

I always seem to struggle with male cards but this is my card I made for my neighbour – Simon, who turned 21yrs last weekend.

I have used the stamp set Cheers To You for the theme.  I stamped a second image on a post-it note & cut out the handle & glass section to use as stencil, so I could sponge some colour into the glasses.  I then used Crystal Effects & applied to the foam area to give some dimension to the image….. I must admit after I’d gone to all that trouble I then thought I could have used my Blender Pens to give the same effect, as the current In Colours don’t have Stampin’ Write markers.

For the strip of Very Vanilla I ran it through the Crimper to give another dimensional effect on the card – I did this technique instead of using ribbon.  I then stamped “21″ over the top of the card to announce the occasion!

On the inside I lined the back of the card as I usually do, but I added a slit to the cardstock before adhering to the card, this allowed me to add his gift – some Gift Vouchers for our local shopping centre.

Card: Soft Suede, Baja Breeze, Very Vanilla

Stamp Set: Cheers to You, On Your Birthday

Ink: Soft Suede, Baja Breeze

Other: 1 1/4″ circle punch, 1 3/8″ circle punch, Crimper, Crystal Effects, Dimensionals, non SU embossing folder, non SU numbers stamp

I decided to make another version of the same card but just change the top half of the card to make it a universal male card.

Happy Birthday again Simon!

Until later, happy stampin’
